ESLC's outreach programs are expanding throughout Salt Lake County, with a new Midvale program specifically targeted towards helping the area's Latino population.

 

The class had registered 14 students and it's growing!

Other ESLC successes include our Empowering Parents program, which focuses on literacy classes for parents taught by our volunteers at the elementary school where their children attend school. Another summer has passed and we at the English Skills Learning Center are pleased to say that we succeeded in our time at Hartland - meaning that our students are succeeding!

At the beginning of summer we broke our classroom roster into smaller English classes and the results are tremendous! Students have more confidence, they are seeking and obtaining employment, and with the help of Heather's classes they are navigating around the community with a little bit more ease and knowledge of general directions!

Special thanks goes out to Kimberly Schmit and Ahmed Ali for hosting a great summer celebration and doing so much behind-the-scenes coordination!

Anna, Lucy and a friend attended the volunteer picnic. Lucy was able to introduced herself and had small conversations with 8 different people and groups!
