Volunteers
Volunteers are the vehicle through which our organization delivers our service and they are our most valuable asset. We request a six-month commitment from our volunteers, though most tutors complete at least one full year of tutoring and several value the experience so much that they have been volunteering with us for many years.The demand for our services is growing rapidly. As quickly as we train a new group of volunteer tutors, we receive new requests for tutors. Our waiting list continues to grow with students who are eager and willing to learn. We train tutors 4-5 times a year, but typically still have a waiting list of over 40 students. The demand continues to grow and we strive to provide this valuable service to all who request our help. During our last fiscal year there were 78 volunteers working with students; our volunteers contributed approximately 13,500 hours of their time to helping our students.
