Who We Serve

whoweserve

The ESLC serves adult English language learners (refugees and immigrants) in Salt Lake County who cannot attend traditional ESL classes for a number of reasons. Our students are currently from over 40 different countries. The majority of our students are women, and about half of our students are immigrants and half of our students are refugees.

Currently, our students are from Afghanistan, Bhutan, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Burma (Myanmar), Burundi, Cambodia, China, Columbia, Congo, Cuba, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Eritrea, Guatemala, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Romania, Russia, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, Sudan, Togo, Vietnam and many others.

New Student Registration is from Monday-Thursday from 10-3pm or by appointment. During this time we learn when the student is available and where the student lives and works to find a good location for the appropriate English class. Under special circumstances there are occassions when we offer a one-on-one class.
