Empowering Parents  Draft

The Empowering Parents Program supports immigrant and refugee parents, grandparents, and caretakers of children in local elementary schools. These classes focus on navigating the U.S. educational system, from understanding a report card to reading with children and more. Participants will learn the skills to engage with their children’s education, teachers, and Parent Teacher Association (PTA). 


Adult language learners with a child attending elementary school in Salt Lake County.


Classes are held at elementary schools in the Granite and Salt Lake School Districts.

How Much

Empowering Parents classes are free. 


Learn English while learning about report cards, talking to teachers, and helping children read.


Classes are twice a week for 90 minutes. Classes may be in the morning, afternoon, or night.
